This is the tractor of the year: It does not pollute, and does all the work itself

Electrification and autonomous driving have also reached the field of agricultural machinery.

If you thought lawn mowers were the maximum that electricity could achieve in terms of work vehicles, you were wrong. From California, more precisely the city of Livermore, comes currently the most advanced tractor in the world.

Its name is Monarch, and in addition to an attractive design with LED lighting, it brings much more. This is an electric and autonomous tractor, ie "the smartest tractor in the world", as they call it at the company's headquarters.

In particular, electrical conduction brings significant benefits. First, there is no more pollution from the particles emitted by the exhaust gases.

Another area in which electric propulsion is used is saving. Under U.S. conditions, this tractor saves about $ 45 a day in fuel.

It is worth noting that the motor has an electric motor of 40 horsepower in continuous operation, or up to 70 horsepower in short-term load. Torque data are not known, but the company says the values are twice as high as on a classically driven tractor.

The manufacturer says Monarch was created to work for 20 years. The base price is $ 50,000.
